Dr. Gutzman received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Brigham Young University. After graduating he attended The University of Washington School of Dentistry in Seattle, WA, and earned his DDS degree. He then moved back to Salt lake City, and completed a medical residency in anesthesiology at The University of Utah Medical Center.
Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Gutzman entered into private practice as Utah’s first itinerant (traveling) Dentist Anesthesiologist. He travels throughout Utah providing anesthesia services in dental offices, and has been doing this since 1984. Dr Gutzman has developed his technique over the years of helping his patients have a comfortable, pain-free, alternative to receiving their dental care. Dr. Gutzman provides anesthesia for all types of patients; pediatric, special needs, severe dental phobic, patients needing a lot of dental treatment, patients unresponsive to local anesthetic, surgical procedures, etc.
He is licensed in Utah with a Class E Anesthesia License, allowing him to do all aspects and levels of anesthesia. Along with this, he has a Utah Dental License, DEA License, and is BLS and ACLS certified. Dr. Gutzman is a member of the American Dental Association, Utah Dental Association, Utah Medical Association (Affiliate Member), and American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Gutzman is married and has three daughters. He loves rock climbing, mountaineering, mountain biking, and running trail marathons.
